Time out
Everybody needs some time to rest and recharge
At Microsoft Canada, our employees work hard but they also are entitled to a competitive vacation policy that ensures they take the time out for some good old fashioned R&R.  Our employees are entitled to 3 weeks of vacation per calendar year, as well as 12 statutory holidays, which will vary depending on the province of residence.  Vacation entitlement increases after 8 years of working with the company. However, if you would like to take more time off before that, as long as you have worked with us for a minimum of two years, you have the opportunity to take unpaid time off to ensure you are getting the right dose of vacation you need.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Work hard, but play too.

We like doing things with our colleagues. Whether it’s coming up with the ‘next big thing’ in technology, playing sports, sharing interests or just enjoying each other’s company socially. That’s why we have a great range of sports and social clubs whose members are keen for you to join in. You’ll find a great employee community through our subsidized social clubs program, that can help you discover a new sport or activity you’ve never tried before.  Who knows, you could be a natural at photography, a first class polo player or the next big name on the cycle track. Whatever strikes your fancy, chances are you’ll find a group ready and willing to share the experience with you.   The possibilities are endless.

We also offer paid time off for volunteering hours to help you feel good about contributing to your community and charities of choice.
