Meet Wael

Portrait of employee Wael.

Consultant, Services & Support

What’s surprised you most about working at Microsoft?
I used to consider myself top of my class—but once I joined Microsoft, I discovered that I needed to go a long way to reach that level here.

What’s the office environment like?
As a Microsoft Consultant, I work on-site with customers all the time. So, for me, the office is the place where I get to socialize, play some Xbox games, and get corpnet connectivity. Every day I get to work with great people from all over the Saudi kingdom.

Tell us what path led you to Microsoft.
I started working for Microsoft in 2006 after I graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals as a Software Engineer. Since then, I have joined Microsoft Consulting Services and started my career as an Information Worker and Application Development Consultant. A major portion of my work is helping our customers deploy and accelerate our technology adoption such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and .Net Framework.

What are your favorite Microsoft benefits?
There are so many … nice little things like gadgets for my laptop, or bigger favorites like a health club subscription, Internet connections, and health insurance.

What’s important to you outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends—and I get good ideas through networking. I also love to read and write social, philosophical, and technical articles in local newspapers or blogs.
