Microsoft's Simplygon Studios is the developer of the state of the art 3D optimization technology platform used in Microsoft's 3D for everyone initiative. We are a high-energy team with a love for our technology and challenges involved in building the best possible solutions. Our tech is used to make complex 3D assets viewable over a wide variety of devices and scenarios. It has been proven and used in high end game development for over a decade.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who will play a major role in pushing the boundaries of what is possible in automatic 3D optimization. As a Senior Software Engineer working for Simplygon Studios, we are expecting you to have a proven track record building complex systems and a strong background in 3D graphics.
Lead design and development of new optimization technologies for current and future visualization pipelines.
Rewrite exiting systems for increased functionality, reduced memory usage, and increase performance.
Collaborate with other Microsoft teams to accomplish company wide goals.
Share your experience with other engineers so they succeed.
Keep current with the technological developments and advancements in the 3D graphics industry.

University degree in a technical discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer.
Proven C++ and C# expertise.
Excellent debugging and testing skills.
Deep understanding of 3D graphics and 3D math.
Deep understanding of rendering pipelines and their bottlenecks.
Experience in game engine development.
Strong code optimization skills.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Graphics API experience, DirectX, OpenGL or Vulcan.
Knowledge of multi thread programming patterns and libraries.
Familiarity with the concepts of machine learning.
The work location of this role is in our office in Linkoping, Sweden.
