SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

We, the Skype Business Core Engineering System team have a world changing charter and are looking for a strong Senior Software Engineer for our Skype Business Performance infrastructure team.   Skype Business is major success with 40% YoY growth along with changing the way billions of users communicate. The team owns all of the services and tools that the core engineering teams use to do performance, network data collection, monitoring and analysis in Office 365 production environment.


In This Role, You will:


•Provide and execute on a data driven approach to software engineering through designing, coding, testing, debugging, problem solving and analytical skills

•Lead the team in adopting relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes

•Provide critical thinking, technical innovation, and attention to detail while serving as a trusted advisor in the group

•Develops complete designs micro-services that enhance the performance measurement service to improve reliability and maintainability

•Actively participate in design discussions, code reviews and help evangelize performant solutions

•Work in collaboration with peers and teams to enhance the performance measurement service and performance gate to production

•Org wide collaboration with all of Skype Business Core Engineering teams.


The successful candidate must have:


Required Qualifications:

•BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR equivalent 4+ years of relevant work

•At least 4-5 years C/C++/C# skills


Preferred Qualifications:

•Programming experience with strong design skills and engineering excellence fundamentals

•Experience in writing efficient multi-threaded code

•Strong technical problem solving and debugging abilities.

•Possessing excellence in technical leadership and technical influence skills

•Ability to work closely with team members to collaborate on innovative solutions

•Self-driven, pro-active, results-oriented and ability to work with minimal direction

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

•Distributed computing and network programming is a plus
