Senior Android Engineer - Yammer

Companies around the world use Yammer to allow their employees to communicate and collaborate openly. This makes workplaces more effective and makes employees happier and more engaged. We know this for a fact, because we're not only building Yammer - we're using it every day to do our jobs. We're not just building a product, we're trying to change the way people work. We need people who are enthusiastic, who ask great questions, who have strong opinions but aren't afraid to admit when they're wrong, and who enjoy collaborating with a cross-functional team.

At Yammer, we hire smart people, expect them to learn and grow, and trust them to make day-to-day decisions. We care most about creating products people love - to enable that, we move quickly (pushing code to the PlayStore weekly), we iterate, and we value learning over shipping features.

- have 3+ years of Android development experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or IT related technical discipline or in place of 3+ years of internship or industry software engineering experience

- have built and improved usable and performant applications for the Android platform

- go above and beyond to create high-quality, stable products that customers enjoy using

- have strong experience in OO design and development, multi-threaded interface design

- can work autonomously and communicate well with cross functional teams

- have experience working with outside APIs

- have good understanding of the tradeoffs between native apps, web-apps and html5 apps - are self-motivated and willing to take advantage of opportunities

It's also helpful if you have awareness of server-side stuff (though we only build client-side apps) and previous experience working with A/B testing - but don't hesitate to apply if you don't. Problem-solving ability, leadership ability, and attitude are much better predictors of your success here.

- We release our mobile apps weekly

- We use Macs mostly, but you're free to pick the laptop you prefer and can be most productive on
