SMB/EDU Solutions Expert

As a SMB/EDU Solutions Expert you will help customers digitally transform their business. You will advise customers on cloud productivity, be the first point of contact for new customers, and help re-foster relationships with past customers. The SMB/EDU Solutions Expert will deliver a strong first impression and set the foundation for long-term customer relationships. By performing both outbound and inbound selling motions, you will have meaningful conversations with customers to understand their priorities, focus on business outcomes, address customer needs with solutions, and proactively get customers to benefit from Microsoft Store offerings.


You will work directly with customers, your store field teams, and implementation partners to qualify leads, introduce them to stores for business consultations, workshops, and events, and assist in achieving quarterly and annual sales quotas -- with net-new business as well as managing and growing Microsoft Store's existing book of business. You will be expected to utilize modern selling and marketing techniques and tools to communicate effectively with key business decision makers.

This Job will have the following industry leading training program for employees of the Lead Distribution Program:

•      Microsoft Product and Solution Training

•      Executive Conversation Training

•      Social Selling Techniques

•      Industry Training

•      Challenger Selling Skills

•      Demonstration and Presentation skills


Key Role Responsibilities:

•      Perform outbound calls to existing past customers and customers within our pipeline and introduce Store as source of ‘Cloud Productivity Solutions’

•      Position competitive offerings and solutions in the context of customer needs and experiences; provide product overview and insights pertinent to customer needs and usage scenarios

•      Introduce and invite prospective customers to in-store cloud events, training and 1-1 consultations with Stores

•      Follow communication “scripts” on various Microsoft Store campaigns to seize opportunities with customers

•      Assist prospective customers scheduling time with Stores in your market

•      Receive leads through Microsoft’s CRM (MSX), and funnel prospective customer opportunities to sales team within Store

•      Work in a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic teaming environment with Business Sales Specialist, Business Experts, Service Advisors and partners to effectively manage opportunities and pipeline through the sales cycle

•      Leverage social, digital, video, chat, phone and demonstration environments to effectively reach, promote store value, and sell to Microsoft Store customers

•      Obsess over Microsoft’s customers and prospects to deliver a world-class customer engagement experience



Required Qualifications

•      1 to 3+ years of strong sales/customer service relationship background; familiarity with modern sales techniques and tools

•      Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship is available for this position      


Preferred Qualifications

•      Familiarity with modern sales techniques and tools is a bonus, including experience from retail sales, corporate internships, or entrepreneurial programs

•      Achievement and success-driven personality, motivated by performance rewards for exceeding annual sales goals through strategic sales leadership and strong cross business collaboration

•      Solid time management skills and ability to work independently or under supervision with a high level of integrity

•      Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications (SKYPE, Outlook, Windows 10, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote and SharePoint); Microsoft 365, Office 365, and other CRM experience is a bonus

•      Passion for cloud technologies and changing the world
