Senior Software Engineer

The Azure Monitoring team is looking for a Sr Software Engineer to be part of our journey to build the Monitoring solution for Azure customers. The Monitoring solution will cover wide range of scenarios that cuts across multiple areas like Compute, Storage, Networking, Applications that the customers use in Azure.

Our solution will be used by the largest of cloud customers and we will need to innovate in the user interface to effectively monitor at that scale. We are looking for a strong Web UI engineer to develop user experience that are simple, fun, effective and at the same time very performant and reliable. You must be passionate about UX design and development and experienced in delivering large scale web based UI solutions.

You will be a part of agile and fast-moving team that runs and updates cloud services daily, takes a deep pride in keeping it 100% available and practice customer obsession culture. You will work closely with other engineers and Program Manager counterparts to design, develop and test new concepts and drive the greatest impact on adoption and usage.

Along with creating and maintaining awesome software you’ll also be able to participate in our hackathon’s or take a break by kicking back and playing ping-pong when you need to re-boot the mind.


You’ll need to:

•      Have 5+ years of front end experience in an agile environment.

•      Love to learn! To get the greatest solutions we need to continually explore what’s new and be willing to dive in and learn.

Stuff you’ve got to have experience with:

•      Modern Front End JavaScript libraries (such as ReactJS or AngularJS)

•      NodeJS / Java script / JQuery/ NPM/JSON

•      HTML5, CSS3, Knockout

•      Layout aesthetics (YFiles)

•      Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

•      Solid experience with frontend tools such as Gulp, Grunt, Brunch, Babel, Webpack, LESS or SASS.

•      Proficient in code versioning tools, preferably Git, GitHub, GitLab.

•      Knowledge of SEO & web page performance techniques

•      Browser testing and debugging

•      Experience designing, building, and operating enterprise grade cloud scale websites

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of development experience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
