As a global company, Microsoft is organized into geographic regions. Each area has a headquarters that serves as the hub for regional activities, including sales, business development, and marketing. The offices are located in China, France, Germany, Singapore, Turkey, and the U.S. Generally, you’ll find finance, human resources, sales, and management positions in area headquarters.
In our development centers, software engineers—including developers, testers, program managers, and designers—are busy creating technologies and products that will be used by millions of people worldwide. We’re working on new releases of the products you already know and incubating ideas for products you may not have imagined. Our development centers are located all over the world, including Canada, China, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S. The workplace is dynamic and high-tech yet casual.
Throughout the world in countries including China, India, and the U.S., the engineers and solution managers in our IT centers and datacenters design, deploy, manage, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft’s global IT infrastructure. Our work impacts millions of customers through services like Windows Live and supports employees through our own internal IT operations.
From our operations centers in Ireland, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the U.S., we process the millions of transactions per day that keep Microsoft running smoothly. We’re responsible for software manufacturing and fulfillment, electronic software distribution, volume licensing, and other logistical support activities. We also manage channel partner and customer contracts, train and pay employees, and invoice customers and partners.
The top minds in computing and the social sciences call our research labs home. You’ll find them in thirteen locations around the globe, including China, India, the U.K., Germany, Egypt, Israel, and seven labs in the U.S. Our work environment is friendly and collaborative, yet focused and intense, and we actively cooperate across labs. Sales, marketing, and services offices
Microsoft sales, marketing, and services/consulting offices operate as independent corporate subsidiaries in more than 100 countries and generate most of our company’s revenue. We’re located close to our customers to help us better understand their needs and the local market.
Technical support centers
Our technical support centers are in more than 70 locations worldwide, with our largest centers based in China, Europe, India, Japan, and the U.S. This broad coverage means customers have global access to Microsoft’s deep technical skills and local knowledge, whenever and wherever they need it. We solve the toughest customer issues and improve our company’s products, programs, and services.
