Fresh Paint, one of the top 10 apps for Windows 8, focuses on a simple, magical, and fun experience. We are the top-rated app in the Windows 8 app store in the entertainment category and one of the top-20 apps all-up. We have been prominently featured in the Windows 8 advertising campaigns; from TV to print and social media. You’ll have the opportunity to work on great product, and help us develop the future as we think about how to expand into new experiences and engines. We are a small team, with a mix of short-term deliverables and long-term ambitions and we are developing quickly and having lots of fun in the process!
Responsibilities include implementing natural user interfaces, productizing ideas and code from Microsoft Research, designing APIs, and developing new experiences using physics simulations. On our small team, everyone is expected to participate in scenario development, UI design, write code, and test the product. For this job, you need to be willing to get your hands dirty and own ideas from inception to delivery. Then brag about it to your friends and family as they see it at the top of the charts in the app store.
We are looking for a highly-experienced developer who can both lead a long-term project and contribute at an architectural and hands-on coding on the development effort. Our code is built in C++ and XAML and the algorithms require a developer with a solid mathematic background and creative problem-solving capabilities. Experience in Windows 8 development, XAML and Direct X graphics would be highly-valued. We will also look for strong communication skills, a track-record of excellent cross-group collaboration, and the ability to work across some of Microsoft's biggest divisions. Candidates also require the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing startup environment and above all have the drive to chip in and get things done whether it is in the job description or not.

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Solid C/C++/COM coding skills.
• Solid Application/UI programming experience using WPF/XAML or Jupiter/C++/XAML etc.
• Developing in Windows 8 is a solid plus.
• DirectX programming, including DX 10, Shader Model 3.0 and common 3D modeling tools, HLSL will be preferred.
• This job requires developers who can work under tight schedule and ready to wear multiple hats
• Ideal candidates will have a proven record of accomplishment across one or more product cycles.
• C/C++, Modern/XAML, Silverlight, Dotnet etc.
• General-Purpose GPU programming
• Strong math background in vector and linear algebra
• Experience in using digital painting applications is a plus.
• A demonstrated ability to come up to speed on new technical domains
