We are the Go team in Cloud Advocacy. Our mission is to engage, educate, and represent our technical communities best-in-class tutorials, documentation, sample projects, and presentations. We create technical documentation, example projects, proofs of concept, blog posts and other written materials. We actively contribute to Azure and community-led Open Source projects. We represent Microsoft in the Go and broader Open Source community.  

 

Our team is growing, and we are looking for someone to help us make Azure the best place to run Go applications. 

 

This position is remote work friendly. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • 7+ Years Industry experience in software development. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • 10+ Years Industry experience in software development. 

 

  • Previous experience as Developer Advocate.

 

  • Excellent communication skills – public speaking, written communications, technical documentation. 

 

  • Proven experience contributing to 3rd party online communities (StackOverflow, GitHub, Reddit, Quora, etc.) and social media platforms (Twitter, Twitch, YouTube or other local geographic equivalents). 

 

  • A self-starter that can manage and prioritize initiatives that will make our developers and platform the most successful.  You have a “pulse” on the Go community. You separate the signal from the noise. 

 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with product teams as an advocate for our customers, communicating needs of specific customers and general community trends to help guide product development efforts. 

 

  • Experience in Edge or IoT computing is a plus! 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain sample projects, example applications, and tutorial code demonstrating best practices for running Go workloads on Azure compute.   
  • Actively contribute to Azure documentation, growing the portfolio of Go subjects, projects, and Learn Modules.  
  • Collaborate with product teams, providing feedback from and on behalf of customers and potential users. 
  • Contribute to projects and products related to Go in Azure 
  • Act as a community leader, representing Azure in the Go community, at conferences, events and other engagements. 
  • Help define and develop the Web Assembly story for Go on Azure.  
  • Actively participate in Krustlet and other WASM projects at Microsoft.
