  • About the program

    Launched in 2003, the Finance Rotation Program (FRP) has been developing the next generation of finance leaders for over 20 years. Each year, we welcome approximately 60 interns and 70 new grads from around the world to experience financial analysis at Microsoft. Our programs are geared towards those with no industry experience beyond internships, and applications typically open in August, September, and October.

  • Full-time Finance Rotation Program

    Explore four, 6-month rotations over the course of this 2-year program:

    • Pick from over 100 finance rotations based on your interests and career goals 
    • Opportunity to work abroad in second year 
    • 1-on-1 mentorship from Director-level finance leaders 
    • Global community with majority located in our hubs: Redmond, WA, Atlanta, GA, and Dublin, Ireland 
    • Promotion from Financial Analyst to Finance Manager upon successful completion of the program

    • Annual case competition 
    • Weekly trainings, excursions, and networking opportunities  
    • Primary pipeline into full-time FRP 

      

    FRP internships outside the US vary in timing and location.

  • MBA Internship

    The Central Finance Team at Microsoft offers a 12-week Financial Analysis MBA Internship separate from FRP. This team is responsible for analysis of company performance, creation of financial forecasts, development of the annual budget, and ensuring accurate close results.

     

  • Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for early in profession individuals from a range of backgrounds and universities. Interested candidates can focus on developing our preferred qualifications:

    • Competency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI/Tableau or other data visualization 
    • Experience with SQL/R/Python or other programming/data science
    • Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting acumen including data modeling, data analytics, FP&A, forecasting, interpreting financial statements, and reporting
