What is the Finance Rotation Program (FRP)
The Finance Rotation Program (FRP) is a two-year program comprised of four, 6-month rotations spread across finance. Analysts may select rotations from one of 100+ hosting teams, with the goal of the program being to gain a breadth of experiences throughout the two years. The program provides analysts with the skills and tools needed to be successful by offering abundant resources to continue learning including:
- On the job financial modeling, data analysis, and machine learning
- Learning from senior leaders in finance and business partnership across the company
- Formal training opportunities comprised of program sponsored and self-directed learning
Upon completion of the program, analysts will transition to a new role at Microsoft, having a direct pipeline to becoming a Finance Manager.

Microsoft Finance Internship
The US finance internship is a 12-week program where interns will join a team within the finance organization and get a glimpse of what a future rotation would look like in the full-time program. Interns may select rotations from one of 40+ hosting teams and will participate in a team-based case study called the Intern Challenge.
Interns will receive mentorship throughout the program and will be invited to attend fun events with the FRP community (like a sunset boat cruise or professional soccer game).
Upon completion of the program, interns will be considered for the Finance Rotation Program at Microsoft, with the internship considered the main pipeline to the full-time program.

Sales Finance
Sales Finance teams are aligned to our worldwide commercial business and global sales, marketing and operations groups, which drive most of Microsoft’s revenue. Teams manage financial planning, reporting, analysis, and financial business performance of segments ranging from enterprises, small-to-medium sized businesses, and retailers across the globe.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for early in career individuals from a range of backgrounds and universities excited about Microsoft finance. This is a brief list of the types of skills and qualifications we are looking for in interested candidates, both for full-time and internship opportunities:
One or more years of classroom and/or finance internship work experience in financial risk analysis with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
SQL/R/Python or other programming/data science experience preferred
An understanding of fundamental finance and accounting acumen including data modeling, data analytics, FP&A, forecasting, interpreting financial statements, and reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
